Entirely For Fun: Jacob Authier by YogaBear Studio

26 year old Jacob Authier describes himself as 'a bohemian gentleman with gypsy tendencies'. Bohemians are often described using terms such as artistic, unorthodox, wanderers, adventurers and of course associated with free love. Bohemians are also elemental (fundamental or essential, inborn). Elemental is also a core theme of the work of David Gray from YogaBear Studio. David's first book focused on this theme and was titled Elementals: Celebrating the elemental spirit of man.

For David Gray, elemental simply means natural. Men who are not overly primped and chiseled, hair is a must both on the body and the face. What was fascinating to me in going through David's impressive portfolio is how different each man looks when shooting them as they naturally appear. Sometimes models today are so manscaped, with identical hair lengths and cuts they often look so similar with the special qualities that make them unique photoshopped away. When selecting models and artists to feature on FH I try to look for things unique and different. It is for this reason I am happy to feature David's work. There are men on David's site I normally would not think of as attractive who become, though his lens, beautiful and intensely sexy.

'I found Jacob Authier on Model Mayhem--he had some very dynamic photos on his profile. We met at San Onofre beach for the shoot, back when it was still a nude beach, and spent an hour or two taking photos. It was a great collaboration--he had some great ideas about poses, and the beach, of course, is an amazing location to show him off.'

David says he takes photos entirely for fun, and enjoys working with all sorts of men.

'Most of my work is classic portrait and physique photography, but I'm also working on several special projects, including a series of naked yoga images and an series exploring masculine stereotypes.'

Thank You For Being A Friend: Ali by Dylan Rosser

I am happy photographer Dylan Rosser broke his rule against shooting guys that he is friends with. Hi friend Ali managed to persuade him to change his mind.

'Somehow I find it really uncomfortable to shoot nudes with friends. It is far easier to tell a model I have never met before to get naked. It is just part of the job, but when it is someone you know, it can be awkward for both model and photographer. Having said that, we managed to laugh through it and come up with some great shots, and in a cool location as well.'

When I was a teenager, like many of you I am sure, I crushed on Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Even back then I knew Saved By The Bell was crap but Mark-Paul was so adorable and talented that after the first season or two the show was basically written for, and around, his character. After the shows cancellation Gosselaar went on to prove himself a good dramatic actor as well in tv movies and on NYPD Blue.

At 37 Gosselaar is hotter than ever and in his new show Franklin & Bash, featuring the equally talented Breckin Meyer, Gosselaar again gives us a brief glimpse of his amazing backside. Here's a little look back a Gosselaar's most revealing roles.

Scene Of The Day: Ed Helms in Cedar Rapids

If you ever get a hankering for the nerdy/sexy combo (and who doesn't from time to time) then these shots of Ed Helms from Cedar Rapids are for you. To be honest I had not heard of Helms (no I have not yet seen The Hangover and do not watch The Office) until I saw him on Saturday Night Live but was instantly a wee bit smitten. Thanks to VJay at JAD for the caps! Cedar Rapids also features the backside of Red Foreman (Kurtwood Smith). I love Smith but don't exactly get the same hankering...

Keeping up with Nick Ayler

The first time I saw shots of Nick Ayler was back in 2009 when Hans Fahrmeyer sent me shots from his most recent shoot with Nick. Instantly it was clear there was something special about this man. Besides being one of the hottest models, Nick is a also a talented singer, actor and DJ. What impressed me most about Nick was how driven he was. Nick worked hard to get his career jump started and was generous to in providing FH with material and information. Since 2009 Nick has been someone I feature as often as I can!

Nick's hard work and determination has led to Nick heading to head of the class. The past year has had Nick featured in numerous campaigns, calendars, magazine covers (DNA by Richard Gerst), book covers (ONE by David Arnot)and much much more!

After a move from New York to CA last year new opportunities presented themselves including a role in the new series Hollywood Boys. Hollywood Boys is just getting off the ground but if you want to jump on board from the beginning you check check out the official site HERE: I will feature more as the series progresses.

California has also provided Nick the opportunity to explore one of his main loves, music. Nick DJ's every Saturday and recently began a new Facebook Page and Website to feature his work. Check out his latest, The Contradiction Mix HERE:

'Photography through the eyes of a painter'

The first time I featured the work of John M Clum (An Ealaíontóir: Brock Chapman by John M. Clum), I contrasted his work with model Brock Chapman with Clum's seawall series of paintings. I was struck by how similar the feel was in all of his work, regardless of the medium. With both his paintings and his photography John's work has a added layer, a depth.

'I capture images of men that will span body structure and physical manifestations of form, frailty, variation, infirmity, strength, power, beauty, arousal and the exotic or any combination thereof.'

One of John's latest shoots was with 23 year old Pennsylvania model Jake Buczynski. Jake is just getting started with modelling but with the depth John brings to his shots Jake looks far from a beginner. Jake says he is not afraid to after what he wants, and success with modelling is currently at the top of his list.

'I'm a very out going, lively, entertaining person. I enjoy working out and staying active. In my free time I enjoy baseball, volleyball, hiking, cliff jumping, and in the winter I love to snowboard. Recently I've been dedicating my free time to becoming a model. It's alot harder than I thought but i'm working hard and getting into the best shape of my life and I am not gonna stop until I succeed in this profession.'

John thinks with the right opportunities Jake is headed for success. He found him on Model Mayhem while looking for models in his area that were trying to get a start.

'I could see his potential right away with his impressive physique. He was only about 30 miles from me so I contacted him and offered to shoot him. He answered yes and these photos are the result. He was excellent to work with!'
